Project Overview
Newington Green Primary School partnered with SolarTherm UK to take a major step towards sustainability while reducing long term operational costs. The school required a solar installation that not only delivered strong financial returns, but also protected its existing flat roof warranties.
To achieve this, it was essential that SolarTherm UK worked alongside certified specialists to integrate the solar PV system with the existing roofing system without invalidating prior guarantees.
A Community Powered Project
This solar project was made possible thanks to the school’s incredible commitment and community spirit. Over two years, Newington Green Primary School, the Newington Green Action Group and local businesses and families worked tirelessly to raise funds to cover the costs of the solar installation – hosting events, running local fundraisers and securing support through the Aviva Community Fund.

Protecting the Roof – and the Investment
For this project, SolarTherm UK worked alongside Bauder Approved Contractors to carry out the soft-weld of the Nicholson Rooftek system, ensuring:

- Fully approved installation methods compatible with Bauder systems
- Long lasting protection for both the flat roof and the new solar PV array
