9 Installations from 2025
The past year has been one of exceptional progress for SolarTherm UK, defined by landmark installations, forward thinking technology and the continued trust of our customers across the South East. From advance residential solar PV systems to high performance installations on Schools, Churches and commercial sites, our teams have delivered projects that embody precision engineering and sustainable innovation. In this behind the scenes review, we highlight nine of our most notable installations from 2025, share the stories behind them and reflect on the innovations that shaped our work – demonstrating exactly what sets SolarTherm UK apart in a rapidly evolving renewables landscape.
Bancroft School – Phase Two
- System installed: 54.12 kW solar PV system with SolarEdge power optimisers
- Objectives: Reduce energy bills and provide a learning experience for students
- Predicted results: Additional annual electricity savings of £9,233 and an estimated 339,040 kg of CO₂ savings over the system’s lifetime
Customer story:
In 2023, Bancroft School approached SolarTherm UK with the ambition of utilising all available roof space for renewable energy, incorporating both solar PV and a solar thermal system. Following the successful installation of over 300 panels across the sports hall and swimming pool roofs, we returned in 2025 to complete Phase Two—adding a further 132 panels across a section of the school’s flat roof. A live monitoring portal is now displayed within the school, helping pupils understand how the systems work and allowing renewable energy to be incorporated into lessons and academic activities.

Sunfields Methodist Church
- System installed: 11.48 kW solar PV system with a 20.48 kWh Voltsmile H1 battery
- Predicted results: First-year savings of £2,669 and total estimated savings of £176,203 over 30 years
Customer story:
With its unique roof design, Sunfields Methodist Church initially believed solar was not a viable option. Despite relatively high energy usage and limited opportunities to reduce costs, the church contacted SolarTherm UK to explore potential solutions. Our experienced team conducted a detailed site assessment and designed a system tailored to the building’s constraints. By combining solar generation, battery storage, and off-peak tariffs, the system now offsets a significant portion of annual energy consumption while delivering a strong return on investment.

Mr Totman – The Ratchet Shop
- System installed: 14.35 kW solar PV system with two 10.24 kWh Voltsmile W1 batteries
- Predicted results: First-year savings of £2,868 and total estimated savings of £186,386 over 30 years
Customer story:
Mr Totman contacted SolarTherm UK seeking a solution to reduce energy costs at his workshop. Following a site assessment, we identified a flat-roof installation as the ideal solution. Six weeks after installation, Mr Totman reported that the system was performing beyond expectations, delivering higher-than-anticipated savings and reinforcing the value of investing in solar and battery storage.

Ground-Mounted System – Mr Van Meurs
- System installed: 16.60 kW solar PV system with a 20.24 kWh Voltsmile H1 battery
- Predicted results: First-year savings of £3,698 and total estimated savings of £245,578 over 30 years
Customer story:
Due to dormers, shading, and unfavourable roof orientation, a traditional rooftop system was not suitable for Mr Van Meurs’ property. Instead, SolarTherm UK designed a ground-mounted solar installation, transforming unused farmland into a productive energy asset. The system now supplies a substantial amount of clean electricity for both the home and farm, delivering strong financial and environmental benefits.

Mixing Home and Business Savings – The Allen Family
- System installed: 9.96 kW solar PV system with a 10.24 kWh Voltsmile W1 battery
- Predicted results: First-year savings of £1,490 and total estimated savings of £104,309 over 30 years
Customer story:
Running a small floristry business and an Airbnb from their rural home, the Allen family wanted to reduce energy costs while improving sustainability. Eight months after installation, SolarTherm UK revisited the property to review system performance and install an Emergency Power Supply (EPS). Their experience highlights how solar and battery storage can deliver both financial returns and enhanced energy security for mixed-use rural properties.

Multiple Orientations, One Efficient System – Kaveri
- System installed: 4.92 kW solar PV system with a 5.12 kWh Voltsmile V10 battery
- Predicted results: First-year savings of £986 and total estimated savings of £62,836 over 30 years
Customer story:
With relatively high daily energy usage, Mr Kaveri wanted to reduce reliance on expensive grid electricity. SolarTherm UK carried out a comprehensive feasibility study, identifying three suitable roof areas—including a flat roof section—to maximise generation. The result is a highly efficient system that captures solar energy throughout the day and significantly reduces energy costs.

Simple, Effective Solar – The McKay Family
- System installed: 3.28 kW solar PV system
- Predicted results: First-year savings of £523 and total estimated savings of £38,359 over 30 years
Customer story:
Like many homeowners, the McKay family wanted a straightforward way to reduce their energy bills. SolarTherm UK designed a solar PV system tailored to their usage, delivering reliable performance and meaningful long-term savings through a simple, cost-effective solution.

Building a Sustainable, Green Business – Octopus Networks
- System installed: 18.04 kW solar PV system with a 20.48 kWh Voltsmile H1 battery
- Predicted results: First-year savings of £2,900 and total estimated savings of £174,945 over 30 years
Customer story:
When Octopus Networks purchased their new premises, they committed to becoming a Net Zero business. Every aspect of the renovation—from insulation to energy systems—focused on sustainability, using local contractors and prioritising recycling and refurbishment to minimise waste. SolarTherm UK worked closely with Octopus Networks to design a renewable energy solution that significantly reduces reliance on the National Grid. The system is expected to save approximately 106,489 kg of CO₂ over its 30-year lifespan, marking a major step toward their sustainability goals.

Community-Powered, Supporting Education – Newington Green Primary School
- System installed: 83.27 kW solar PV system with SolarEdge power optimisers
- Predicted results: First-year savings of £14,683 and total estimated savings of £621,267 over 30 years
Customer story:
For more than two years, Newington Green Primary School worked alongside the local community and the Newington Green Action Group to invest in a renewable energy solution that would deliver long-term benefits. SolarTherm UK collaborated with Bauder-approved contractors to complete the soft-weld installation of the Nicholson Rooftek system, ensuring specialist expertise, approved methods, and full warranty protection of the existing roof. The result is a high-performance solar installation that will support pupils, staff, and the wider community for decades to come.
