The Challenge
The homeowner wanted to futureproof their energy usage and reduce rising electricity costs while making the most of the available roof space on their bungalow property. With daytime energy usage and growing concerns over long term utility bills, the goal was to install a system capable of delivering strong generation performance alongside reliable battery storage.
The property layout provided an excellent opportunity for a well balanced solar array, allowing SolarTherm UK to design a system tailored specifically to the home’s energy demands.
The Solution
SolarTherm UK designed and installed a 6.15kWp solar PV system using 15 high performance Amerisolar 410W panels paired with a 5.12kWh Voltsmile battery storage solution.
The battery system allows surplus solar energy generated during the day to be stored for use during the evening, when grid prices are at their highest. Battery storage helps homeowners maximise self-consumption and reduces their reliance on imported electricity from the grid, as well as making time of use tariffs accessible so peak rate electricity is rarely needed to be imported.
The installation was carefully configured to optimise generation efficiency while maintaining a clean and visually balanced finish on the bungalow roof.
The Result
The completed installation is projected to deliver significant long term financial and environmental benefits.
With estimated first year savings of £1,333 and a projected payback period of just 7 years, the homeowner is expected to see substantial reductions in electricity costs while benefitting from greater energy independence.
Over 30 years, the system is forecast to generate approximately £90,208 in total savings, delivering an impressive predicted return on investment of 644%.
Customer Feedback
“We wanted a system that would genuinely lower our bills and make better use of the energy we generate. SolarTherm UK made the whole process straightforward from start to finish and the installation looks fantastic.”
