Commercial roof owners – farmers, office blocks, nursing homes, schools – if the building has a commercial roof you need a reputable, accredited and experienced installer like SolarTherm UK!
This weeks solar industry news has once again picked up on companies from outside of the solar PV industry jumping on the bandwagon. Here we have a photo, taken only this week, of a ‘solar installer’ walking over the solar PV modules whilst they are being installed.
Using scaffolding and wearing PPE often disguises the fact that some of the newbie companies don’t have the foggiest idea about what should and should not be happening when installing solar panels.
Did you know that 60% of the calls we receive at SolarTherm UK are for repairs to work completed by other installers, electrical investigation or roof repairs? Often the installed work is barely a few years old. However, by this time, the scaffold has already been taken down, the installers are away, and the client is left paying for the repairs.
As seen above, walking over solar panels will create micro-cracking of the cells, this can lead to electrical faults further down the line. In some circumstances this can even lead to an arc or fire. Furthermore, with a cheap grid inverter, there is no fire safety switching, monitoring system or additional software. So often with these cheaper systems the unfortunate truth is the client really doesn’t know what their investment is doing, whether it’s functioning correctly, or worse – is it ready to ignite?
SolarTherm UK are not the cheapest, but the equipment we use is the highest quality and our workmanship and safety record is first class. This is the commitment to quality we bring to every installation, and is the reason we are Gold Standard members for most certifications available to our industry, and we are now in our 14th year of trading and supplying quality solar PV systems.
All of our solar PV installers are qualified NICEIC MCS contractors with Working at Height qualifications and are CSCS Skilled cardholders. It is very rare that we sub-contract projects, and if we do we will always have a dedicated and experienced project manager, who will advise that walking over fragile goods is not part of the installer training! You can see more about our accreditations here.
We can offer fully-financed Solar PV systems and competitive quotes that often see our systems repay the capital borrowed in under 5 years. However, depending on available roof space and orientation, some systems can be repaid in as little as 3 years! Thus leaving 30+ years of respective profit and electricity savings, and protecting your business from future rising energy costs!
