HIES is proudly partnered with JUST ONE Tree, where every completed job on the HIES portal contributes to the planting of a tree. Through this initiative, SolarTherm UK has planted a tree for each residential customer since registration, resulting in over 4000 trees planted!
Who is JUST ONE Tree?
JUST ONE Tree is a powerful non-profit initiative dedicated to removing CO2 from the atmosphere and reversing biodiversity loss through global reforestation.
They focus on areas severely impacted by deforestation, maximizing the positive effects on our planet’s climate while providing agricultural education and sustainable incomes to local communities.
JUST ONE Tree plants in Madagascar, Haiti, Kenya, Mozambique, Indonesia, Nepal, and Zambia. Scientific evidence shows that forests nearer the equator have the most significant cooling effect, driving their impactful choice of locations.
But their mission extends beyond planting trees. JUST ONE Tree is committed to restoring entire ecosystems, both on land and in oceans, while nurturing the next generation of environmental stewards through comprehensive educational programs, including lesson plans and designated JUST ONE Tree Days.
How does it work?
To bring trees to life, JUST ONE Tree collaborates with a network of reforestation partners in poverty-stricken areas, employing and training local community members to plant and care for the trees. These dedicated individuals ensure the vitality of their new forests by nurturing and monitoring them.
Each tree absorbs an impressive average of 21kg of CO2 per year, leading to an estimated total benefit of 78,120kg for our environment.
